Recycling Totals, Year End 2009
- Cardboard/Paper/Cans/Bottles/Plastic/Compost= 757 tons
- Kitchen Grease: 29.8 tons of grease turned into biofuel
- E-Waste, Batteries, Paint, Metals, Fluorescent Bulbs and Pallets= 542,000lbs or 271 tons
- Donated supplies and equipment- in excess of 33 tons
Conservation Efforts Results – Comparable Occupancy:
- Hilton San Francisco achieved a 66.6% waste diversion rate in 2009- a 1.6% improvement over last year.
- 7% reduction in electricity
- 24.2% reduction in water usage
- 14.2% reduction in natural gas
2008 Projects in Energy Conservation:
- New Laundry Equipment installed in December 2008 conserved over 11.5 million gallons of water and 1 million CCF's of Natural Gas in 2009.
